I've been following a website about the creative use of light in photography, and I've finally started to practice some of it. One of my first sessions was on Tuesday night - a simple setup to be able to capture incense smoke in a photo. My favorites from the set are ( behind the cut. )

The main thing that I'm taking away from that particular photo shoot is that I want to learn control over all of the elements captured in the photo. There are plenty of shots in the photostream that contain a red background; unfortunately, it was shot against a door, which provides some lines and textures that distract from the overall effect of the photo. I think that I could have done some more prep work and not had to deal with that at all.
