My car is dead

Ugh!

So, my car's wheel bearings are shot. Saturn estimates this to be $500 worth of repair. The county of Middlesex, MA, has assessed my car as being worth $1300, which is about what Edmund's places an average condition car to be worth, if you sell it to another owner yourself.

Except, I have $1800 worth of collision damage on it as well. So, I now have to put in $2300 to the car to get it to be worth $1300.

I'm going to call around to a couple of mechanics, and see if they can cut that $500 down to something like $200 or $250. If so, I'll probably get the car fixed. If not, I'll just rely on public transportation (I was planning on buying a pass again next month anyway), and maybe even whipping out my bicycle.
